Devanagari Script — Unicode Block U+0900–U+097F

Hindi is the most widely spoken language in India with over 600 million speakers, and the third most spoken language in the world. It is written in Devanagari script, a left-to-right abugida (alphasyllabary) where each consonant inherently contains a vowel that can be modified with diacritical marks (matras).

In Unicode, Devanagari is encoded in the block U+0900–U+097F — a 128-code-point range covering all Hindi vowels (swar), consonants (vyanjan), vowel signs (matras), the anusvara (ं), visarga (ः), and Hindi-Arabic numerals (०–९). Devanagari Unicode is also shared by Sanskrit, Marathi, Nepali, and several other South Asian languages.

All major platforms natively support Devanagari Unicode. Google, Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, and most operating systems include built-in Devanagari fonts (Noto Sans Devanagari, Mangal). Simply copy text from this tool and paste it anywhere — no special fonts or software required.
